BIOGRAFIA

After a career as an art and landscape historian, Anna dedicated herself to photography and artistic research. Her photographic projects have been published in different books and specialized magazines. In the projects she develops both her training as a landscape historian and her personal experiences play a very important role. Many of her photographs portray the traces that she finds in the landscape, clues to the events that occurred in a certain place. They document how humans shape their surroundings. In this sense, her work is located at the edges of (or collisions that occur) between nature and human beings. In her work Anna investigates the ways we interact with the natural world: sometimes consciously, sometimes unconsciously. Besides being a photographer, Anna works for Land Art Contemporary – a platform for Land Art in the Netherlands.

She is currently developing and filming her first film project together with Carlos Mora: LEVEL. This project has been subsidized by the Groningen Art Funds (Kunstraad Groningen) and Cantabria Film Fund, and has been the winner in the Cinematographic Impulse Workshop DCP-04 (Dialogues of Cinema and Production) organized by the Cantabria Film Library and the Cantabria Film Commission. This earned the project an invitation to Abycine Lanza Festival where it will be attending this year. Level has also been selected to participate in the Walden Artistic Residences, which it took part in in the spring of 2021.
