Laura Alhach (Cali, 1991) studied Anthropology at Universidad de los Andes and a Master’s degree in Ethnographic Documentary Film at University College London UCL. During her professional career, she has focused on the use of archive materials to investigate processes of representation, gender and the gaze. She has made the short films “Remembering the Taste of Avocado”, Best Documentary Montemariano FAMA (Montes de María 2019), finalist for Best International Documentary Cheap Cuts (London 2018); and “Chontaduro Honey”, MIDBO (Bogotá 2018), Jerwood Staging Series (London 2017). She is currently the Editorial Coordinator of the Public Policy of Audiovisual, Cinematography and Interactive Media of the Ministry of Culture of Colombia and directs her first documentary feature film, “Beyond the River.”
