BIOGRAFÍA

Laura García studies journalism at the Complutense University of Madrid. She also studies photography at the EFTI school. She decided to train in documentary direction with the Master in Contemporary Documentary of the ESCAC. Her final project of Master “The possibility of a volcano” was produced by Escac. In it, Laura was the screenwriter, director and editor. She was selected in DocsValència, where it received the special mention of the jury and in FICMEC or Málaga4kfest.

She has filmed pieces for Playground with more than 13 million visits and different videoclips. She has occasionally worked as editor of other documentary projects such as “Maneras de vivir” or “Parir” for the production company Barret films.

Right now she is immersed in her next project, which is the most personal: “I am my mother’s daughter” having the opportunity to develop it in the script workshop in Cuba, at EICTV 2020 at the Walden Online Residence in September 2020, at the self-referential internship workshop with Susana Barriga (EICTV) and, finally, at Walden residence in Mallorca with the company of Majordocs. This project has also obtained the aid for production 2020 by the Institut Valencià de Cultura (IVC).  It is currently in post-production with a target completion date of November 2022.

On the other hand, she co-directs and broadcaster on non-fiction cinema podcast ‘Docs & Talks’ where they have had the opportunity to cover live festivals such as Dock of the Bay in Tabakalera or from platforms such as l’Alternativa, Curtocircuito, Zinebi, Punto de Vista and many others, including Majordocs.
