María Álvarez, Argentine writer and director.

She is currently filming “Near and Dear”, last part of her documentary trilogy about time and art that began with “Las cinéphilas” (2017) and continued with “Le temps perdu” (2020). Her documentaries have screened through many international festivals including IDFA, Mar del Plata, BAFICI, Thessaloniki, DocLisboa, DocAviv, Göteborg, Semaine de la Critique de Locarno, Gijón, Ourense, Cinemateca Uruguaya, Femcine, etc.

She wrote “Burned before reading”, theatre play that won the Second Prize Fray Luis de León from Valladolid, Spain, published in 2016.
