Filmmaker

Zeynep Güzel is a filmmaker, consultant and the head of Doc Station at Berlinale Talents. Zeynep was the head of the Yeni Film Fund of Turkey founded by Anadolu Kültür and !f Istanbul Independent Films Festival. Zeynep directed and produced the documentary Come Rain or Shine (2019) and produced two other documentaries Beginnings (2013) and Impressions of A Summer (2020). Zeynep works as a consultant on storytelling in its broadest sense, international grant writing, pitching and co-financing strategies with the platforms such as Berlinale EFM Toolbox, DOK Leipzig Industry, Cannes Docs, East Doc Platform, Indocs Indonesia, and many more. Zeynep has also been in selection committees for IDA Awards, Docs By The Sea, Dok Leipzig Co-pro Market and IDFA Forum in the last years. Zeynep works as a programming consultant for IDA’s biennial seminar Getting Real and was a fellow of the 2021 Berlin Artist in Residency (AiR) at Nipkow Program with her first narrative feature film When the Sun Comes Out. Zeynep has been a senior consultant at the Documentary Association of Europe (DAE) since its foundation and is on board of the Documentary Film Council (UK). Zeynep joined Indocs new program OpenTable, an exclusive development workshop for Indonesian documentary filmmakers as an international mentor.
