The festival offers school screenings, Q&As with the filmmakers, workshops for teachers and students and pedagogical materials offered by the festival to carry out these activities.
Faced with an ever-increasing consumption of audiovisual content, MajorDocs EDUCA aims to stimulate the young critical eye through screenings and debates on documentary film and to provoke an empathetic experience towards some of the key themes of our society, as well as enable the student to discover the authors’ creative process.
Documentaries offer great pedagogical possibilities to explore, through emotions, human, artistic, historical, social, ethical, scientific or current affairs. The films included in the MajorDocs programme will deal with this and much more.
In order to broaden the students’ experience, enrolled teachers will be provided with free didactic materials devised by experts in the use of cinema as a pedagogical tool.
As every year, we offer teachers an exclusive preview of this year’s programme. In particular, we’ll focus on the films selected for the Educa section, specifically designed to be used in the classroom. In this session, we’ll highlight the strengths of each film and its educational potential. It’s a very practical 45-minute session designed to provide teachers with useful tools and resources.
When? Tuesday, October 7th at 4:00 PM
