The professional sessions will feature discussions on the work of cinematographers .
This year Majordocs will focus on photography direction and the film device as an essential part of the creation process. The figure of the director of photography and his relationship with the authors as well as with the characters will be one of the axes of this new edition.

‘MESSY’ REFLECTIONS ON CINEMA AND THE CREATIVE PROCESS by Mauro Herce

We will discuss issues such as the collaboration between director and cinematograpeher , the identification and understanding of their project as well as the development of a common language and form to approach it, and the importance of ‘production design’ in the uniqueness of a work. We will also discuss some concepts and techniques that I consider in my work in films with more open forms of writing, processes.

Cinematographers Lara Vilanova and Jessica Sarah Rinland will look at the reasons and problems of nonfiction, their creative processes collaborating with filmmakers, filmmaking decisions, handling the distance between the characters, and ethical dilemmas. In addition, the reconciliation and inclusion
of women in cinema will be discussed, with advice for future generations.
