PAIN ETHICS

We are bringing together Messaline Raverdy, Tana Gilbert, David Mikulan, and Gladys Joujou, filmmakers whose works examine the protagonists’ pain. Ethical issues in the representation of pain, the development of relationships with protagonists, the filmmaker’s responsibilities, and the use of private material will be examined, with the goal of understanding how to approach these stories in an empathetic and respectful manner.
