A woman had a library in the back seat of her car. Yet another fractures her finger with the rebel shelves of her bookshop. And to them all I sing. Standing against fire, water, moths, dust, ignorance and fanaticism, an anonymous female army looks after books. An intimate resistance, lacking epic events, revolution or weapons.
Premiere in the Balearic Islands. With the presence of the director.
With an ironic and humorous tone, Maria Elorza shares a feminine world of books and images: an extended family composed of women readers and the books with whom they share their days; a family where literature is an intimate thing, a constant play of encounters, dialogues, and disconnections. The director takes us on a journey through time, literary and visual references, celebrating a secret and everyday genealogy that casts a new light on the bonds and affections woven between women and books in the shadow of official history.
