His award-winning works, shown at major festivals and museums worldwide, move between documentary and fiction, exploring wilderness and marginal ways of life through hypnotic 16mm films hand-developed by the artist.

Philippe Ciompi works mainly in sound design and mixing for films. Over the years, he has collaborated with directors such as Elene Naveriani, Salomé Jashi, Andrew Kötting, Ben Rivers, Xiaolu Guo, the Quay Brothers, among others, across Switzerland, France, Germany and beyond. He is also exploring related fields such as picture editing and music composition for films.
