JURY MAJORDOCS 2025

Ben Rivers, London-based artist and experimental filmmaker, is one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary cinema. His award-winning works, shown at major festivals and museums worldwide, move between documentary and fiction, exploring wilderness and marginal ways of life through hypnotic 16mm films hand-developed by the artist.

Lola López Mondéjar, psychoanalyst and writer. Her novels include Mi amor desgraciado (My Unfortunate Love), La primera vez que no te quiero (The First Time I Don’t Love You), Cada noche, cada noche (Every Night, Every Night), the short story collections El pensamiento mudo de los peces (The Silent Thoughts of Fish), Lazos de sangre (Blood Ties) and Qué mundo tan maravilloso (What a Wonderful World), and the essays Invulnerables e invertebrados (Invulnerable and Invertebrate) and Sin relato (Without a Story), winner of the 2024 Anagrama Essay Prize. Her articles are published in various national media outlets.

 

Philippe Ciompi works mainly in sound design and mixing for films. Over the years, he has collaborated with directors such as Elene Naveriani, Salomé Jashi, Andrew Kötting, Ben Rivers, Xiaolu Guo, the Quay Brothers, among others, across Switzerland, France, Germany and beyond. He is also exploring related fields such as picture editing and music composition for films.
