Three sisters meet in La Palma to divide up a family legacy. They gather almonds, share memories but also quarrel, reliving past family disputes. However, what good is it to battle for territory that the volcano might eventually bury?
Opera prima, Balearic Premiere.
With the presence of the director.
A short family story, a few dialogues, and marvellous filming. With those three elements, Macu MachÃn weaves a rural drama of imposing sadness and unease. Three sisters, united and disunited by love, meet again in their living space, a remote place in La Palma island, in Canary Islands. Through the interpretation of their relationship and an exquisite soundtrack work, a complex
atmosphere of feelings as superficial as they are transcendent is born, wrapped in an imposing nature and a threatening volcano that prevents us from forgetting the eternal volatility of being.
