KIX is a 12-year odyssey following Sanyi’s journey from a rowdy street kid in Budapest to a disillusioned young adult. The film captures the evolution of Sanyi’s life marked by family struggles, school issues, the challenges of adolescence, that culminate in a tragic turn of events forcing him to confront the responsibilities of adulthood.
Opera prima, Spanish Premiere.
With the presence of the director.
An intense movie, filmed from the ground up from a skateboard, that tracks a never-ending chalk trail made by kids as they sprint through Budapest’s working-class areas. Those kids are left alone to wander the streets. The editing and music engulf us in a constant, fast-paced action that doesn’t let us breathe, and suddenly ten years fly by in front of our eyes. Staying true to the characters, the filmmakers capture them in close-up, following their development to a devastating and unanticipated conclusion.
