For five days, six international filmmakers will work on their feature-length documentaries in development with the aim of strengthening their films.

The residency will take place in a rural house in Mallorca from September 26 to october 5. The program proposes a slowed-down experience in the countryside in the interior of the island and away from distractions. The objective will be to deepen and work on the projects in their different stages in a calm way, receiving constructive feedback, not only from the tutor but also from the classmates themselves.

The residency will be tutored by Diana Toucedo, a filmmaker and editor with dozens of feature films released and awarded at festivals such as San Sebastián, Rotterdam, Semaine de la Critique de Cannes, or IDFA. She combines her work as an editor with teaching both in the Master of Creative Documentary at the Pompeu Fabra University and at the Netherlands Film Academy.

During participation in the residency, the participants and the tutor will be invited to a fam trip to some locations in Mallorca.

Participation in CALMADOCS will culminate on October 5 with an event in which the projects will be presented publicly within the framework of the MajorDocs festival, before a selection of international advisors made up of producers, programmers and directors of international festivals and with a prize for the best €1,500 pitch

The residency costs €4.000 per participant and includes workshop registration, accommodation and meals during the residency (September 26 to october 5), Majordocs accreditation and access to all professional activities of the festival, project pitch and transportation. from the center of Palma to the rural house.

The call seeks projects in different states, from early writing phases to advanced editing stages, with or without a production company. Participation will be subject to selection based on a dossier, a teaser and a letter of interest.
