WHOSE FILM IS IT? Intimacy, power and shared creation

Filming a life involves negotiating desires, boundaries and responsibilities. This session will explore the relationship between filmmakers and protagonists: who produces the images, who decides what is shown and how the narrative is constructed. Pain will be one of the starting points, alongside the ability of those being filmed to intervene in their own representation, express their desires and transform the film.

Films and filmmakers:

  • Silver — Natalia Koniarz.
  • A Fox Under a Pink Moon — Soraya Akhlaghi.
  • Explode São Paulo, Gil — Maria Clara Escobar.
