The Beach of Enchaquirados

Vicky divides her days between fishing, the bar she manages and the intimate space of her home, where she imagines other scenarios for her own existence, surrounded by soap operas, make-up and beads. Through delicate photography and precise editing that takes from reality as much as it is capable of creating, The Beach of Enchaquirados offers a powerful portrait of a trans woman going through a moment of dissatisfaction and melancholy. Through subtle moments of observation, the film also captures a unique coastal community deeply connected to the cold waters of the Pacific Ocean and manages to convey something very revealing about the fluid and non-normative way in which gender identity is perceived there.
